Reducing Hunger and Food Insecurity for Homebound Individuals

Since 1974, Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels (AAMOW) has worked to reduce hunger and food insecurity for our homebound adult neighbors in the Ann Arbor area who, because of their health, are unable to shop and prepare nutritious meals for themselves.

AAMOW staff and volunteers are committed to supporting the dignity and independence of our homebound community members who are largely unable to leave home because of their health status. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion and seek to provide services that are culturally responsive. Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels is a community-supported program of U-M Health Department of Community Health Services.

"Private philanthropy allows us to continue our life-affirming efforts across our community to provide nutritious meals to our clients as well as wellness checks and other services that support folks as they age in place. Not only do our Meals on Wheels clients benefit from the food they receive, but their well-being is also supported by someone checking in on them and letting them know that they are cared about and valued by their community." Courtney Vanderlaan, Director, Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels

Please consider partnering with us as we help those in our community increase their food security. Our clients receive nutritional meals, social interaction with volunteers, and the knowledge that people care about them. Your gift will ensure we can continue making a difference for those in need.
